The Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RIPA) of USDOT administers federal
funds to 33 university programs designated by TEA-21 as "University Transportation
Centers." Within RIPA, the Office of Innovation, Research and Education handles
administrative details of the UTC program. More information, including a listing of
the centers and a description of their themes, may be found at
http://utc.dot.gov.
UTC performance data is used to satisfy requests for information from
Congress and other executive branch government agencies. For UTCA, that
includes all projects conducted with UTC monies, plus projects conducted
with Alabama DOT "State Planning & Research" (SPR) monies.
The following information is tabulated as part of the special UTC reporting requirement:
- UTC project listing, consisting of projects funded with UTC funds or ALDOT SPR funds.
- Two-page overviews (research project descriptions) of these projects are linked to
the listings in HTML and PDF formats.
- Final reports, where available, are linked to the listings in
HTML and PDF formats.
