UTCA Unsolicited Proposals

All Proposals Welcome - UTCA welcomes unsolicited proposals from faculty and staff members of the University of Alabama System. As occasional high-priority needs arise, the UTCA Executive Committee may even approach designated faculty members to request proposals dealing with specific projects.

Submittal Date - Unsolicited proposals may be submitted at any time.

Content - UTCA prefers that proposals deal with topics and projects from the Annual Research Plan. However, proposals are not restricted to the Plan, and alternative topics will be accepted.

Format - All unsolicited proposals are submitted in pre-proposal format, following the current RFP criteria posted on the website.

Submission Process - Ten single-bound copies of the unsolicited pre-proposal should be submitted to your campus Associate Director.

Review/Selection Process - Unsolicited proposals will be reviewed using the same process as proposals received in response to an RFP, except that they may not receive immediate review (the Executive Committee typically waits until a reasonable number of unsolicited proposals have been received before reviewing them).
